Is there a TalkGuitar.com?

We have our own dogma, but I like to thing the tantrums are less.

Can I talk about my guitar here? Ditching the trem on my Mascis Jazzmaster.
Gaffer’s tape to pull some sticker residue, then Goo Gone & a wipe down.
Sounds great with all of my “bass pedals” too!

In my book, you are absolutely free to talk about your Mascis Jazzmaster because I have one too.
But that would be dangerous because we never go off-topic her on TB. ;)

On Topic: I have never found a widely focused Guitar forum. As other have said, they cluster around brands or styles. I visit several of those since I too need ideas about how to re-arrange my pedalboard. (Wink again)

My Mascis cleaned up nicely //

ON TOPIC though- the forums at offsetguitars are pretty informative.
But like you said, it’s kind of crazy how specific most guitar themed forums are.

Looks nice and clean.
So you just didn't use the Trem? I am sure it is more stable now.

So just why is Talkbass so successful with its universal bass coverage? Converse: why don't guitarists appreciate a broad forum?

Definitely digging the hardtail bridge plate over the stock trem— being a true bassist, I rarely touched it anyways.
And I’m a big fan of function over form!

I’m only guessing here but I’m thinking that there are way more guitar players on the internet than there are bass players.
Perhaps this is at least one reason why our beloved Talkbass works so well.

Understood.
I like to mess with things so a whammy is just dandy.

Yes, I think that the sheer number of guitarists out there (and the wide range of playing styles and skill levels) means that it is tough to market a "universal guitar forum" in the Talkbass mold. And maybe it is a good thing. For instance, you would find lots of love on different fora out there for the Mascis Jazzmaster because it is a fairly niche guitar yet it still appeals to offset fans in general and Jazzmaster fans in particular.

Heck, I bet there is a sub-forum out there somewhere that is only for people that took off their tremolo bars on their guitars! LOL

Before you get your panties in a wad and start slamming me for mentioning "Guitar" on TalkBass, I am a bass player that dabbles in six string guitars. I would like to visit a forum for guitars that is comparable to Talkbass.com. Thanks in advance.
No, Six string slingers are to busy putting hairspray on and being self absorbed. "Is my new Marshall fullstack going to be loud enough to play at the Amvets?" "Can you hear me clearly, all I hear is the bass from your 8inch practice amp?".
Apologize for ranting, and potential thread jacking.

There are tons of guitar forums out there.

Dime a doze if you don't mind dealing with crazy guitarists. ;)

This forum is nicely moderated. Guys who hate this tend to be knuckleheads. I find that guitarists are entirely too emotional with justifying their purchases and tearing down stuff they don't like. Bassists are generally more respectful and better critical thinkers.

The Acoustic Guitar forum is probably the closest in terms of having a similar attitude to this forum. They occasionally get stuck on certain topics like Taylor's new V bracing. Even as a Taylor guy, I've grown tired of those discussions.
