I'm thinking about getting the new tc electronic BG250 combo and dropping in a kappalite 3015

The thing only weighs 35 pounds with the stock speaker so I'm thinking stupid light with awesome performance would be the result?

It has a 250w amp in a box 24.4(h)x18.2(w)x15(d)

Well you won't notice much difference if any at all, I would just put the spare kappa light in a decent extension cab and stack it if the amps minimum ohms add up right.

Dropping any driver into a box that was not designed for it results in a crapshoot. I may work well but more likely won't.

A BG250 won't accommodate and extension speaker. There's a balanced line out but no extension speaker out.

The BG500 uses an 15" Eminence Driver but the cab is a little larger. Before contemplating that I'd contact tc electronic and ask about the advisability of doing it.

I'd also play it with the stock driver to begin with first to see how you like it before dropping more $$$ into replacing the speaker. You may like it well enough as is.

that TC is a good-sounding combo and great for the price, but it's kinda just a big practice amp (no extension speaker option).

even assuming that the "upgrade" worked, the money spent on the amp plus that speaker would likely be better put towards a more professional amp to begin with.
