brokeNCYDE "Freaxxx" - YouTube!

this made me really really angry. i cant believe people actually listen to this ****. im not a violent person, but i really want to hurt the people in that video. as a musician and a human being, that video violates the principles i hold most dear.

i had to share my anger, im sorry you had to be exposed to that horrid sight. but how can we solve a problem if nobody knows its there?

Hmmm. It's just poor music that objectifies women. Not the first time bad music has been used to spread that poor message. I don't like this, but I think your response to it is a bit overboard. IMO of course. Also how do you propose we fix it? If there was an actual way to keep bad music from objectifying women I'd be all about it, but I doubt there's a "fix" for it.

I can't watch YT right now, but if this shows objectification of women--rock has a long, long history of that.

Edit your thread title to completely mask your profanity, or you could very well get a smackdown from the mods.

It's not that I don't agree with him, it's just not the first time I've heard music this bad. The video and message is horrible too. I guess I'm getting older and keep seeing this crap repeat itself and I'm becoming numb to it to a point.

Near the beginning of one summer in the mid 80's, a buddy of mine began wearing out a cassette tape title "Fear - More Beer" at the time it was the most awful thing my pretentious, progressive rock, blues purist, classic rock ears had ever heard. By Mid June, I was rocking that tape as hard as anyone and totally into it.

There is no accounting for taste and what the teenage ear may become fixated on. I used to hate hip hop, i used to hate disco, I used to hate all sorts of stuff, or so I thought.

That said, I hate everything about that video and wish I could blow it up with my mind.

The most frustrating part, to me, though, is that they have millions of hits on youtube, compared to incredible musicians who will never receive any of the things they deserve, let alone a couple thousand hits on youtube.

Good musicians care more about the music then getting rewarded for it imo. I'd rather make great music then get tons of hits on youtube (not that I'm a great musician). That song did have more dislikes than likes I guess is the only positive thing I saw. I think like 10,000 more dislikes, I didn't look to close so that's a rough number.

I'm trying to decide whether worrying about this, or arguing politics is more useless, I'll get back to ya.....

Seriously though, IMHO a "good" musician will find an audience for their talent. How big that audience is and how many hits they get is probably not even an issue. How many hits do you think the most technical, highly trained right on no joke amazing classical musicians get on their sites? I'd think their satisfaction comes from communicating musically and emotionally with group of people no matter the size.
