Is this a good startup combo? (Also, Line 6 M13 questions inside)

Got some money to spend on a bass setup soon. Been playing guiar about 7 years and I'd love to play bass. Is this a good set for starters for bedroom playing, and will these work well with my line 6 m13?

Also, is there a big tonal difference inbetween the 1x15 and 1x12?

Yes to both , nice choice of Bass, I have a few P basses and I love them . . The combo is ok as far as practice goes in your room and you'll be ok starting off this way .

Yes is good combo though I think theres several better basses by other mfg's for same and less money. Looks like very nice bass combo but a bit much power and air movement wise for bedroom. 10" combos are generally a better choice for small rooms like bedrooms and most rooms in most houses imo. However the one your looking at would also be suitable for small to medium gigs in most cases imo.

are there other p/j combos like that that are as good if not better for the same or less? and about the amp: can I find a 12 or 10 that has good headroom with decent tone like the GK?

You should find a place with a nice used selection and try out everything, best deal and fit.
