Is this a quartersawn neck?

My AVRII 1960 P definitely has the super orange tint. I don't get too hung up on that stuff, but they certainly weren't shy with applying the finish. There are spots where it came over the edge and stained the fingerboard (I wrote Fender about this and basically received an "our bad" response)

I have AO P and Jazz basses and they're far more natural looking.

Yeah - the necks on my AV basses from 2014 are way, way paler.

The AO is pretty much the only reissue series they didn't make so orange (except the 70s jazz headstock face only, which looks awesome). It's not the end of the world but it is a little too much. Still amazing basses.

You'll have to look at the top of the headstock to see if it's actually quartersawn, I have a bass that has a very pretty neck similar to the pics of yours and you'd think it was quartesawn until you look at the top of the headstock, it doesn't show the grains the proper way.

The first picture is a quartersawn neck, the second is flatsawn.

We shall see in a few days. I can't even imagine how else it could look but I'm very curious to find out.
