That is a big scam .
I watched a TV show a while back about these low lifes . They actually managed to rip off a woman for $250,000 dollars , believe it or not . The circumstances they provided were close enough to keep her believing it could be a relative of hers . They kept providing very convincing serious documents and kept needing more money for "Fees" . The TV show was able to get one of the scammers to meet her so he could follow through with the scam. The TV show hosts had police hidden about the house and property , he ended up leaving in handcuffs.
The thing I found kind of scary is that these are not just individuals making up a scam . These are organizations of criminals ( sort of like mafia ) working together as a team to provide whatever they need to pull off the scam .
I would suggest no one should ever meet with any of them , no matter what they call themselves (pickup agent ? , LOL ) .
