Is this bass worth buying?

I say look around. There are a lot of good basses in that $1100 range....G&L, Lakland, Brubaker, even custom made in the USA basses like Carvin.

As for the “extra” string, if you’re just starting out, this is the best time to incorporate it rather than after you’ve gotten used to a four string.

Not sure if that is a fair statement since this series is really new, and you will be very hard pressed to find one of these used.

To the question of if you want a 4 or 5 string version, simply ask do any songs you play need a 5 string? I sold my 5er since I hardly ever used it. I have basses that just stay in drop c/d/ and standard. So the extra B didn't do much for me, and honestly, just got in the way.
