I’m finally buying my first double bass. I played it through school, but never bought one myself.
A parent of one of my music students is selling one. It’s an Eastman VB95GR 3/4 size. They’re selling it (with the case and bow) to me for $1500
It had a bit of damage to the scroll. The luthier told me that it “was fractured at the connection between the neck and the peg box of the instrument. It has been glued and reinforced with pins(screws). The repair is solid, we don't anticipate any issues with it, however if ever there were any problems, please do let us know and we're more than happy to fix it up for you.”
Would that present any issues with sound? I can attach an image of the repair.
