Is this enough?

I'm considering buying a 200 watt 4 ohm amp along with an 8 ohm 410 cab.

Since the cab is 8 ohm how much wattage can I expect it to pump out? Definitely not the total 200, but would it be enough to compete with drums and guitar?

Cabs don't pump out watts, they pump out decibels. There's no direct correlation between the two, so the only way to know for sure if your intended rig will do what you need is to try it.

Adding another 8 ohm cab will get you the 200 watts, if I had to guess, I'd say maybe 150 watts @ 8 ohms, but you'll never know until you try it out.

Unfortunately I could only try it without drums so I'd have no clue how it would compete.

You'll have to try it with the full band. There are far too many variables for anyone to predict how it will work.

Your only concern will be pushing the amp too hard which will send a distorted signal to you speakers which will damage them eventually. The good news is that this is easy to hear so you will be able to tell when the amp is reaching its limit in what it can do. If the single 8 ohm cab is not loud enough, then adding another 8 ohm cab will be the easiest way to get more volume. However, then you will have 100 watts per cab which in the real world of playing electric bass in a live band, is not much juice. The amp will likely start clipping if pushed hard.

But you never know, it might be all you need for the band you are playing in. I had a bass playing friend that used a 250 watt Crate head with a 115 cab and a 410 for years and he kept up with two insanely loud guitards. No one could belive how good his rig sounded and it was really pretty low end gear.
