Is this signal flow right?

I'm getting ready to set up my new bass rig and here's how i plan on doing it. Theoretically I think it should work but I'm not 100%. Signal goes like this. Bass>Wireless Receiver>Compressor>Pedal Board>Second Channel on the Compressor Used only for the Noise Gate>Amp. What Sounds like it should work but I'm not sure is using the compressor unit i have (dbx166) as a compressor with no gate on channel one and a gate with no comp on channel two.

Hmmm... I don't remember, does the 166 have adequate range of threshold setting, when fed an unbalanced instrument-level signal? If so, then your plan will work. If not, it won't.

the range on the comp is -40 to +20.

That's fine on paper--have you run your bass directly into it and gotten satisfactory results, including signal-to-noise?

no not yet but i've read up on it and a lot of site recommended this compressor for live bass. i guess there's only one way to find out.
