Is this used NS Design EU5 a good deal?

I am fortunate to be able for review a used NS EU5 EUB for a week. The price would be in the $2500 range if I decide to buy it.

This is the US model (pretty sure) with the concave neck (thumb channel) on the back of the neck. It also has magnetic as well as piezo pickups.

The bass was used in a branch of the armed forces in Alaska, and saw a lot of use before it was traded in. It has it's share of small minor cosmetic blemishes but nothing truly objectionable.

This would be my first foray into anything upright, I've been playing electric bass exclusively for almost 40 years.

I know there are less costly choices, but one consideration I had about buying this bass was since it was a good quality bass, I should be able to flip it fairly easily at this price if I decide it's not for me.

The hardware (stand) seems very sturdy.

    Your comments?

76 views and no comment, apparently not a good deal?

  3. It's not a terrible deal if it is a US-made bass. Last I checked, Guitar Center in Albany, NY had a used Czech model with stand and bag for $1400.
