It's the advertised price, you are well within your rights to ask for that price (unless he has some disclaimer on there about the prices could change at any time blah blah). If he disagrees, there a places you can go. Here in Australia it's the ACCC I believe, not sure about the US.

Bass Central gives TB users a 5% discount so 299.99 becomes $285... Kinda splits the difference ? They are a TB sponsor you can go to the Bass Central thread and mention it there...

Still higher than the advertised price. If they don't honor it with asking nicely, I'd just not bother and try to find it somewhere else. (Telling them that isn't necessary)

I wasn't particularly trying to hide what I was getting. Just keep names out of everything until everything is resolved. Plenty of hints about the store. Florida, farther north, CENTRAL.Way to commit, Spanky.

Because if we are talking about an original then so is $299, it's hard to look a gift horse in the mouth.
I agree, I'd buy one for that price.
However, the guy asked for advice as to what to put in the email; he got it & sent it. Hopefully the bloke will compromise.
