Is using a pedal a good idea to try out BEAD tuning?

I personally think guitars stop sounding like guitars below C# so instead of BEAD, I keep one bass with a 105 tuned to Eb and one with a 120 tuned to C#. Middle ground for me. Helix Poly Capo to go even lower/higher.

I love C# standard. I use GHS Brite Flats 49-109. I've also used LaBella DTF 49-109 in the past but I like the GHS set better.

The cheapest and easiest way to just try it is a set of (standard) heavy strings. So no filing string slots. I normally play TI Jazz Flats. But when I wanted to try BEAD I dug out a rotosound steve harris .050-.110 set. I remembered they felt like bridge cables tuned standard, but they were fine to test out BEAD, with less floppiness than you'd get from tuning standard strings down that much. In reality for me in the real world, drop D is all I ever need but if I wanted a BEAD option, I'd have stuck with the SH set tuned down, tension felt similar to my TI's tuned standard.
