Is you tube a good thing?

My issue is this.Apart from your John Patiticcis, Marcus Millers and other already old an famous players that you can admire, you tube is full of players that make you just want to give up!

At least here on talk bass it is exactly that Talking

Man, this isn't a competition. Stop comparing yourself to others. Compare your playing today to what it was yesterday. That's the only thing you should worry about.

Respect and admire and be proud of people who do things you can't do yet. Draw inspiration and pick up the little things you can. Be glad that there's still things you can learn. When you stop learning and become satisfied with your own level of playing is when you are done.

Focus on improving your self and soon you may find that your playing is inspiring or inadvertently discouraging others. But always try to encourage others. because there is always someone better, no matter how famous you are.

I find listening to other bass players on You Tube to be very inspiring.

While I know I'll never be as accomplished as some players it still makes me want to be the best I can within my abilities.
