Is your main bass worth more than your main amp?

I realized a few days ago that my bass (Epi T-Bird) is almost twice the price of my amp (Crate BT50 combo). And when I get a job, I'll probably be saving for an Acoustic rig (about $600) and a Highway One P-Bass (about $850). So, what's worth more, your main bass or your main rig?

my main bass Vintaged Aged Valenti($2000+)

my amp Fender Bassman 250 2x10 ($600ish)

So yeah my bass is worth quite a bit more then my amp.. LOL

But I like that amp it sounds perfect flat and thats why I chose it. I am a true audiophile at heart and if I need to boost anything then its time to re-evaluate my gear.

My bass (Warwick LX5) is probably worth a little more than my amp if you only take into account the preamp and power amp (Ampeg SVP-CL and Crown XTi2000), but if you throw in the rack bag, tuner, Furman PL-8 and SWR speaker cabs the amp is probably worth a little more. Does that balance them out? I'm confused as to whether there's a point to this.
