Double Bass ISB 2025 - who is going?

I’ll be presenting again this year and looking forward to the hang. My presentation requires me to bring a bass, so I’ll probably be driving a rental rather than taking my aging CRV to Florida. If anybody from the Midwest is planning to go, I would love to have a copilot, but beyond that, if you are planning to go please weigh in here so I’ll know to look for you there!

I’ve never done this before. Went to their site and this looks like fun and a new challenge for me. How good do you have to be, to go? Will I want to use my bass for kindling after the first day? I’m “OK’ but started late in life. 4 decades a fretless player, 4 years, this year on upright. Coming from Dayton, OH if you want me to swing by… Say no if you want

@Ketbass ISB is amazing, and it doesn't matter what level you are. If you are looking to get inspired and and get your mind blown, there's nothing better in the bass world! As long as I remember to leave my ego at the door, I'm always fine. There are players of all levels, amazing luthier booths where you can play some of the world's greatest basses, fantastic clinics and performances, and a great hang. I've presented at the last 4 of them (they are every other year), and always got inspired many times over. There's plenty of time to decide, but I have always enjoyed it and been humbled by the experience in the best possible way.

Calibration. Basically how to design a set of daily technique exercises tailored to your most pressing technical needs to keep you in shape and in tune with the physical approach to the bass.

Not in the cards for me this year, but I hope y'all have a great experience. @Chris Fitzgerald I really enjoyed our hangout in Michigan. Maybe next one!

I’ll be leaving on Tuesday morning and driving all day, so will be able to catch everything Wednesday through Saturday. I know that TB owners Paul and Hiroko will be going and will have a booth and hope to do some artist interviews, so it will be nice to meet them in person.

Sorry to miss Geoff this year, but looking forward to meeting some other TB folks! Please look me up if you're going so we can grab a coffee or meal or some kind of hang.

I just finished the handout for my presentation with fingerings and figured I'd share it here. Working on the rest of the project between now and the conference.

I have to skip to since I'm moving my shop. Here I was upset I wouldn't be able to get the newest bass pin for my apron. Guess I wont be missing out after all
