Looks like real wood to me. And a purpleheart pickguard.

I was looking at the Dynamo AG and thought "nice shape" and then looked at the back of it... hands down ugliest back of a bass I've ever seen.

I like the wood *but* I would have liked it better if the grain followed the grain on the body and it was finished to match the color of the body where the pickup is.
