ISO Legacy Lane Poor

Anyone have a direct contact there or know of anyone selling them? Planet Bass just let me know that they may not be back in stock anytime soon/ever and I am in dire need of one at the moment.

Hello. Although I don't know what "ISO" stands for here (pardon my unfamiliarity), based on your recent presence here I assume that you want this pickup to fit a Modulus bass. Is that correct?

Whether or not, it would help any potential sellers or referrers if you described the size and type of pickup you need, and whether you only want a Legacy one or if you also can use an original Lane Poor.

Sorry, good point. Yes, it is a lane poor pickup, either legacy or vintage, to fit a modulus FB4. Either way, that is what i am looking for. Was also looking for info, if anyone had it, regarding how much of a certainty it was that they were no longer planning on selling legacy pickups without the purchase of a new modulus build

Wow! I had no idea the Lane Poor pickup had been introduced in the first place. My Flea has a Bart and it sounds fabulous. I remember reading about the Lane Poor pickups but AFAIK the company went out of business almost 20 years ago. Apparently an apprentice from the original company has started a new company called Legacy.

Have you tried the Legacy Facebook. Legacy Pickups

No problem.

That will be a hard one to find. Your objective is authenticity, I assume. Nonetheless, pending finding a Lane Poor MM-shaped pickup, you can try each of the following alternatives until one gets you closest to the Lane Poor sound:

Also you can post in the "Wanted" sub-forum: Wanted: Bass Guitars, Amps, and Accessories

Good Luck!

I have tried the website and, unfortunately, I do not think the guy running it answers emails or checks up on it. Same with the facebook page.

They do, but they do not allow DMs and have not been responsive to posts as far as i am aware, but i will try. I get the feeling that it is a small shop pretty directly tied to modulus, and they dont really do local sales.

Modulus also lists the pickup on their website but it is sold out and also includes the caveat "Modulus Snowflake Logo MM 4/5 HB pickups are only available to purchase for installation in a Modulus bass."

I can find any contact info for Modulus on their website. The FAQ says the only place to buy is Planet Bass, so if Planet Bass has told you the pickups will no longer be made available for aftermarket replacement, and the Lane Poor Facebook is not responding, the only option is probably to find a used one which could take a long time.

You could go stalker and try to track down the guy who has been making the Lane Poor pickups.

Other than that, it is probably a good idea to start looking into other options.

I'm currently in full stalker mode but can't find a reliable phone/email for the guy making the pickups, so yeah i think im just going to wait until one comes up used or, if i get really desperate, buy a bass and swap it out, then sell that bass.

My guess is the guy is no longer making pickups and Modulus is saving whatever stock they have for their own builds. The Modulus FAQ says 2-4 basses are made to order per month, so it's a pretty small operation.

If you Google "Legacy Pickups" the Facebook hit will show some Product/Service associations under "Related Pages" that may be useful. Perhaps you can call one of the associated companies to find out if the Legacy Pickups is still in business.

Did your pickup die and you need a replacement, or are you looking for something new?

Good Luck!
