Got this link from a drummer friend. Disco Reimagined: A Track-By-Track Look At Foo Fighters’ New Covers and The Bee Gees’ Originals - American Songwriter
Makes me wish I had actually learned something about music or recording.
There was a bit of hype surrounding that. I don't see the "reimagined" part at all. Unless putting slightly more distorted guitars in a very faithful reproduction of those classics counts as "reimagined". Cover bands have been doing that for years. Hell, Tragedy (the band) did it better years before Grohl. But I guess all the aforementioned don't have the clout Grohl does.
Oh well.
I always remember this from back in those days, recorded really hot, bent VU meters and the horns sound like they mic'd thru Marshalls, but it's a great groove with a bumpin' bass line.

I'm certain I've posted it before, but what a groove. Listen to the first 55-odd seconds of this before the Sisters come in, just unreal to me, tight, tucked-in, funk for the ages in such elegance. Produced and played by CHIC, the late Tony Thompson and Bernard Edwards along with Nile. This SLAYS me every time I hear it.
