I saw Sylvester and the Hot Band on April 14. 1973! They opened for Genesis and It's A Beautiful Day.

I first saw Sylvester later that same year, September 1973. Opened for Tower of Power. I was 16yo and that was my first ever show (strict parents). Saw both acts many more times over the years.

And as it turned out, Sylvester's guitarist, James 'Tip' Wirrick, ended up many years afterward playing with Greg Adams, one of the founding members of TOP, in East Bay Soul, up until about three years ago.
