No, no, no...right after I typed that I ripped a big fart and then I whistled at some random chick walking by so it all cancels out.

On shaving with an electric razor:

About a year ago my wife gave me a gift set of high quality shaving products from Invalid Link Removed. Nordstrom's carries their products. The kit included all natural, pure shaving products and a book on how to shave like professionals do it. I thought it was kind of a cute gift, what I didn't expect was the huge difference I would experience in terms of the health of my skin.

Most over the counter shaving products are downright nasty to your skin. Electric razors are the WORST of all choices becuase they continually deposit dead skin and hair back onto the surface of your face. The first time you experience a truly perfect shave with pre-shave oil, gentle natural shaving soap applied with a pure badger hair brush, a heated Gillette Sensor Mach 3 blade, and an oil-free aftershave balm made from essential nutrients--you'll never want to shave with anything else ever again. I know, I haven't shaved with anything else since and I've had about 1/10th the issues with acne and ingrown hairs that I did previously.

If this sounds remotely interesting to anyone, I strongly encourage you to take a look at the website.

On acne and diet:

I have also been told by doctors that diet has little to no impact on acne in the overwhelming majority of cases. Stress is one major factor. So is genetic predisposition.

I'm sorry you have this problem. Remember that overdrying the skin can cause as many or more pimples as having too much oil. Alcohol-based "pads" and other astringents can very often be too harsh on the skin--making the situation worse rather than better. Use a non-drying facial soap such as those made by Clinique and you'll be better off. Hope you feel better soon!

Wow, and I thought paying for a $450 used bass was bad....$535 for a razor and a badgers hair brush? Sheeze....

$535?!!! I think I'd go kill a badger and rip his hair out myself before I pay 535 bucks! I've already got a Mach 3 razor. Which nutrients are the essential ones btw?

I had shocking acne as a teenager. Tried everything! the only thing that worked was Roacutane. Beware the side effects, but the results were amazing.

My brother was on acutane for a while. It did some stuff to his liver that made him have to really cut down on the carbs and something else, can't recall what. This was like, three, four years ago? But, it worked, that's for sure.

I'm 20, and I get one here or there, but I've never had acne or anything. Just a zit or two here and there.

I'm 16 and I used to get a decent amount of acne around junior high or so. I started using clearasil clean and clear in the shower after washing my face, and after I get out of the shower, I put on another acne type creme, except this one adds moisture. I use it after showering and shaving with a normal razor. I almost never ever get acne now.

im also 16 and ive honestly never had a decent case of acne, save for maybe 4 or 5 small zits in the span of my life. i use a neutrogena cream cleanser everynight before i sleep and thats it.

bryan - im not sure if anyones mentioned it yet, but a friend of mine used this stuff called "proactive" and it worked amazingly well on her.

.

How did they notice the liver problem? Was it because he became ill, or did they notice something in his blood tests. I used to go and get tests for both liver function and cholesterol every fortnight. As I said earlier, I was eating very well, so the tests results were pefect every time. Actually the only concern they ever expressed was when my cholesterol dropped to less than half the norm. I'm not sure why that was bad. Imagine being told by your doctor that you need to eat more junk food :)

Bloodwork. He was fine, they just noticed his cholesterol had shot up after that first couple weeks (fornight is two weeks, yes?), and while it hadn't done any damage, it might have. So, we altered his (and my, grumble) diets accordingly. I was happy though, lost 15lbs at the time.

They also did somethign where they rubbed dry ice on the acne for some reason. To dry it out, I believe.
