I have a couple 4" straps as well. They're great, with one issue: they're so thick it's almost impossible to get the dunlop strap locks on them. I finally got them installed with lots of pressure. I don't think they'll ever come off.

I totally agree with you on that. I love my Italias but I had to beat them with a hammer and then I used a D-clamp as a press to get the Dunlop straplocks on. Worth the work though. Lol.

I've got Dunlops on my Italia 4" straps as well, but I didn't have all that much of a problem getting them on...not NEARLY the effort it took to put Schallers onto a Levy's strap.

I'm not saying that the Dunlops popped right on...it did take a bit of finagling (and pressure) to get the C-clips set in place, but I didn't have to use a bunch of tools. Maybe the leathers used in mine were softer than some.

I just broke down and bought 2 of these bad boys. They had the buy 1 get 1 deal going on until tomorrow. I've never used one but they appear to be very well regarded. Can't wait.

FWIW; I still have the same two straps I bought almost four years ago and they just keep being more comfy. Total keepers, worth every penny.

I got my ITalia straps in the mail yesterday. They are freaking awesome. If they are supposed to need a "break in" period before being comfortable, even better. Right out of the package they seemed very comfortable to me. I am already sold. I will be hanging onto these for a very long time.

I like mine a lot - super comfortable and great quality. They can be a bit difficult to get on and off the strap pins at first though, and the 4" is hard to stow comfortably in my gig bag. Other than that, they're great.

I probably have 10-12 of these for my guitars & basses, purchased over several years. I love the craftsmanship and quality. I admit that I try to color-match to my instruments.

I have received both very stiff and very pliable straps. With some use (and rolling, bending and flexing) comfort is achieved pretty quickly.

For strap locks, push the "lock" through the strap and trim away some of the leather with a razor knife and finishing the installation is much easier.
