It's a small world

TalkBass is a small world spread across a much larger one. It's usually difficult to determine what posters' nationality and continental home is unless you look into the crevaces. And I sometimes wonder about it after pondering why people post in flurries and then leave long gaps. I imagine that when I'm posting here in the US in the late evening, I might elicit a response from an Ozzie getting ready to go to work or a European who can't get to sleep in the wee hours. I might post something and not get a response for hours, which lets me imagine that someone is still asleep or at work, etc.

Anyhoo, do any of you wonder the same and would you mind letting others know how far-flung we TBers are? I'll start:

Columbus, Ohio, USA, North America, EST (-5 GMT, at least until next Sunday.)

I noticed it more when I lived in Greece, up until last June. Now I'm back in NY (where I was born and raised)
and most postings and responses tend to coincide with when I'm online and active.
When I lived in Greece, I did notice very little action on Sundays. Coincides with the song "Never On A Sunday", I guess. ;)

So, formerly Athens, Greece GMT +2
Currently Queens, New York GMT - 5, Eastern Standard Time (EST)

I'm worried cos we haven't heard back from him. The polar bears are on the other side of the globe from me. .. just microbes and an occasional penguin.

Was he serious??

Yeah, but c'mon, those microbes and penguins could morph into some crazy thing from another planet type situation, right???

I find it interesting being around the forums here. I spend quite a fair amount of looking around, and I don't really know why lol

I'm from Hannover, Germany, +1 GMT. So most of the notifications come up overnight. The next morning I got some stuff to read normally ;) I come back checking for new feed really, really, REALLY often when I'm at work haha

I'm in Japan so my evening posts are read by you guys in the morning, and my morning posts in the evening. The only time I really notice a lull is around lunchtime... That's just a mellow time regardless of where you are in the world.
