So taking a gander at documentaries of Leaders, Lenin, Stalin, Saddam...and of Assassinations, and criminals, psychotics and such...one thing in common, other than ruthlessness and evil..

You can see the craziness in the eyes. And its not an MMA intimidation technique.

Is there a study of this? that perhaps, something in the brain, which is obviously wired up wrong, also gives them that "look" in the eyes?

Just curiosity on a Saturday afternoon. Changing strings makes you search wacky stuff sometimes. :hmm:

There seems to be something lacking. I mean, they know whats going on, they understand humanality...but, it doesnt matter to them. THey want what they want. and have this..I dunno, this thing that makes them do what they do.

Ha...go watch Halloween 2, and listen to Donald Pleasence ( Dr. Loomis ) Describe michael myers to a cop in one of the scenes.

I'd have to disagree, I think you think you see this because you KNOW these people are, well, crazy, inhumane, whatever you want to say about them. The simple truth is, if their victims knew they were nuts, they likely wouldn't have become their victims. The entire thing that makes these maniacs - serial killers, malevolent fascist dictators etc... - so dangerous and so scary is that they know exactly how to look and seem perfectly normal. You know how that old saying goes - the greatest feat the devil ever pulled, was convincing us he wasn't there at all.

Ditto. I'd venture to guess that you might not have made that connection if you had no idea who these people were. Though it would be interesting to see some kind of poll done. Personally, I still think Osama Bin Ladin and Saddam Hussein on his bad days look like withered homeless guys and not particularly dangerous or crazy.

I disagree, to a point. I remember my parents watching tv, I came into the room, theres a kid on tv, its christmas. At first I was wondering why this kid was on tv. THis was very brief, then got a glimpse of his eyes. I blurted out, " He killed himself didnt he?"..like a bad joke.

He did. He was 12 when he did it. I got one good look at his eyes and didnt know anything about the kid.

Yes I do agree, the whole.." He IS crazy!..Just look at him"..type of judgement AFTER he does something, but...you can tell..Ignorance is very powerful. You just dont want to bother with that crazy neighbor. I have one and dont want to bother with him.

Well, I think if Jennifer Wilbanks is any indication. :p

yeah, I'm going with placebo effect on this one. As already stated, the people you're looking at are already revealed to be nasty people, so this whole "I can see it in your eyes" business is probably nothing more than your brain assigning false attributions.

There's a huge difference with a troubled child and a psychopath.Troubled children look "empty" and it's easy to notice if you look carefully.OTOH,a good psychopath would look perfectly normal, like Ted Bundy for example. He looks more like a lawyer than a convict.:p

If I didn't know who they were and their photos were shown to me,I'd say Saddam's running the grocery and Stalin's running the butcher shop next block.:D

I can't really talk about Hitler, that man is on a whole other level...

On a lot of aspects, Stalin was FAR from being crazy. The man was really careful before WW2, he didn't want to kill his soldiers in vain.

Not necessarily true. To me I have come to the conclusion that Stalin was the personification of Evil. While Hitler moved slowly to the final solution, Stalin was instituting starvation quota's as early as 1931. Stalin made Hitler look like a choir boy before Hitlers invasion of Poland. In fact many Eastern Poles, Belorussians, and Ukrainians were looking forward to Hitlers invasion felling they would be treated better by Hitler than Stalin.

Stalin had already killed about 8 million before Hitler turned East. The crime of the those in the Ukraine that merited a death penalty under Stalin was that the Peasant farmers didn't want to move to the cities or give up their meager lands for collectivization. The sadist part about Stalin is that with a few exceptions the Western press was so fawning over the utopian system he was creating that they ignored or willfully propagandized for him rather than tell the world about his genocide.
