Didn't know whether or not to post this here or under basses, but the neck for my custom bass is starting to come to life. The luthier who's building the bass has been sending me update pics this week,

Macassar Ebony on top of a 3 piece neck, flamed maple / mahogany / flamed maple
Mother of pearl block inlays and binding.

The carve on the neck is going to be a vintage C modified to .80" at the 1st fret and .90" at the 12th fret. Radius on the fretboard will be 10"

Has anyone ever seen a bass luthier workbench area that was uncluttered, whistle clean, and ready to receive triaged highway accident victims?

I would be worried if I ordered a custom build and the in-process photos were done on a sanitary marble slab.
PRESENT! I totally agree! I TRY to keep my three benches clean, but I always fail. Somehow, my work seems to proceed normally... at least for me it does. Finished bass pic included.
