One of the issues I had was placement of the battery compartment. I didn't want to a) damage the beautiful finish on the back nor did I want to have to remove the pickguard every time I needed to change the battery... so dear ol' dad came up with the solution. Needless to say, I was ****ing a brick as he was drilling away. But, the man knows woodworking better than Norm Abrams so, I should have had more confidence. I now have made a custom plate that fits perfectly over the cutout and you cannot tell it's there.
