No, the price was $100,000 until it came to the Wynn shop, when the price then jumped to $250,000 - somebody's after a commission, I guess!

Strangely, the bass is "on hold" if you check the Ritter Royals page.

But to the OP - yeah, a few threads have been started on it before

which still makes it the most expensive bass guitar, but not bass... obviously there are uprights worth more.

maybe the price went up because they had some offers?

The 10,000 year old mammoth ivory is actually not that big of a deal - I had a nut made out of that on the custom jazz I used to own. You can get a peice for a nut for around $10 to $15 on sites like this:

A solid gold neck would be around, say, 40-50 lbs...?!?!
