But you're right, as I wrote above, the price for the bass was $100,000 if you requested it from Jens himself.

I didn't know he was a member here on TB, though - but with him posting less than once a year that's not surprising...!

All I see is the addition of jewels and gold to a $4K bass. Add the Hope diamond to an Squier bass and you'll have the worlds most expensive bass as well.

well all of the gold inlays were interesting and as Jens said in a n interview it was interesting learning how to work the gold... for example, the bridge is gold and he had to cast it several times to get it right.

also, i believe the position markers are something 1 K diamonds...adds value... but yes, it is the most expensive bass, not the most valuable bass...let's not go down that road.

That's what I recollect. I wonder if the casino may have bought it for $100,000 on spec and is trying to sell it at major mark-up. Or they may just have it on consignment for a specific period, hence it's "on hold."

I want provenance for the 10,000 year old mammoth ivory nut.

its not as rare as you think, I made my last nut out of a scrap of mammoth I had kicking around, I am a knifemaker and we use it for handles of high end knives, you can pick up a peice the size of your fist for a couple hundred bucks, I was thinking of using some of the higher end stuff I have kicking around to dress up a bass, ivory thumb rest, carbon fiber pick guards , dyed bone nuts,
