I've put a deposit on my first Fender bass - an American Standard Precision in white/tort/maple.

I got it for a steal brand new. Currently on layaway, but I should have it within the next month.

I'm hoping that this will be it - I'm getting a bit tired of the constant GAS and changing of instruments, and have been looking for "the one". If this feels and plays as well as it sounds I'll be set for life.

I bought my American Standard 3 months ago and have had ZERO gas for a new bass, the gas has moved on to other things, but I think I am good in the bass department.....OK...maybe I have a little gas for an AS jazz now, but nothing I cant control. Congrats on you new bass, your going to love it!

How to cure gas? Stop looking in the TB classifieds, or stop looking at TB all together. It helps greatly.

I'm not a believer in 'the one', but congratulations on your precise purchase. It's a classic color combination, for sure. I can never choose between maple or rosewood fretboards because I like them both!
