Warhol was a living myth that revolutionized art and culture
so IOM you cant disqualify him as an artist
The Artistry is; Iconic representations of "Low Culture" using screen printing techniques... classified as Industrializing Art for Mass Consumption

One of my favorite books is "The Andy Warhol Diaries." Among other things, I learned from the Diaries that Warhol was something of a workaholic, churning out art for several hours each day most of his life.

So Anyway, many years ago I played in a band with 3 art students, and we played a lot of artist gatherings. They had great parties.

And let's not forget Talking Heads...art students who decided to make music. They did alright.

John Lennon, Keith Richards, David Bowie, Roger Waters, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, Clapton...

Got a friend who calls herself an artist. Her work looks like what proud parents display on the fridge. One day she was lamenting about no one “getting” her work. I told her just because no one understood her, did not make her an artist.

Lets stick to the physical objective image, ie a 'painting'. If you want I can start a thread" what the hell was Marshall McLuhan talking about"

this will blow your minds guys

See Walter Benjamin's early essay "The Work Of Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction."

Walter Benjamin

"a number of outmoded concepts, such as creativity and genius, eternal value and mystery – concepts whose uncontrolled application would lead to a processing of data in the Fascist sense." = ***!?!

10,000,000 BS points to anyone who can explain that one to me
