Thats right. Not a bandwagon one either. I witnessed the atrocity of drafting Tony Boselli in the expansion draft. I've been there since day 1.

How can a jags fan talk noise about how many fans Houston has while his team spends each offseason covering up more seats to make their stadium look full with a 30K attendance. Nice, enjoy em now because you'll soon have some sympathy for the Houston fans when they lost the Oilers when the Jags move to LA.

And since the Colts put the Texans out of the playoffs by laying down to the Jets, I'll have some enjoyment in watching Manning perform his "swan dive" sack dance when he sees a DT coming at him this weekend.

More likely an OLB or DB. Our DT's (NT and DE's really) are more space eater 2 gap types we use to hold position and stop the run.

Don't worry tho, Bryan Thomas and Kerry Rhodes hit HARD!

Whoa dude, what's with the hostility? With only one other AFCS team fan around (Kelly), I was genuinely pleased to see you... but really, you're acting like the Texan turds on the NFL boards. Now I am pretty well sure that it's a good thing both I, and the Oilers, left that dirty town. :spit:

I GREW UP IN HOUSTON. I was a die hard Oiler, and still sport my old school Astros hat with Nolan Ryan's fading autograph. When they went to Tennessee, I was heartbroken, and since I had since moved to Florida, I chose to follow the Jags, and stayed even once the Texans came in to being.

And I wasn't talking down to the fans of the Texans, though frankly, even to now, I have NEVER had a good conversation with one. And maybe the Jags will go to LA, but it's very, very unlikely. Using that as an insult (which apparently everybody with a perennially crappy team does) is weak, and reeks of lack of creativity. I don't know why people don't go to the games. I have NO IDEA what the economic situation is like in Jacksonville or any of Florida right now. I've been out of the state for 9 years, 6 of them here in Honolulu. If I could make the games, I would. One more but in one more seat.

Boselli wasn't an atrocity. He was a great Jag. They even named a cheeseburger after him in North Florida McDonald's. It tasted like crap, but there was a good picture of him on the cups. I know he was on the downslope by the time he was let go for the Texans, but hell, we didn't choose for him to be taken, we just chose to protect younger players.

Anyhow, good luck to you, and your team, congratulations on finally having a winning season, may it never happen again.

you can have a good conversation with me if you like! lol

speaking as a texans fan, the atrocity was not boselli himself but the drafting of boselli. they burned their very first pick on him, and he never played a down for the texans as i recall. later, ron

In an expansion draft, teams always protect their high-value players. Tony was on his down slope, drafting him first may have been a mistake in hindsight, but at the time, he was a great choice, since all good teams begin with a strong line.

He was a great OT, and he's also the only guy currently in the Jaguar's ring of honor. I can't wait for Brunell to retire, so he can sign his on one day contract, retire as a Jag, and get his own spot in the Pride.

He's also a pretty decent commentator, though he's a little boring.

Rumor has it he'll be running for mayor in 2011.

pride?... .. but jaguars live solitary lives.. like leopards.

Sorry Jimmy. I did come off kind of harsh, but I guess you can blame that on the last 8 years of beatings I've taken for being a Texans fan. Boselli was one of the best LT's to ever play the game, some would argue even HOF worthy, but his career was too short. In Texans' history Tony Boselli made millions only to never play a single down. Now we got our full use out of Gary Walker and Seth Payne. I still sometimes think that the Jags made a side deal to allow Gary and Seth go unprotected if the Texans would take the Cap hit from Tony also.

The Jacksonville attendance is odd considering they pack that stadium to the gills when it hosts a college game. What do you think of the Jags owner saying he wants to pick Tebow?

Anyway, back to the point, GO JETS!

Never heard Weaver saying he'd go after Tebow.

Not sure how I feel about it, but he could be a possible fit to sub for Garrard, given some time to work on his fundamentals as a QB, or to cross train as a back. He has a similar method of play to Garrard, but I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I think if anything,it would be more of a way to get butts in seats then a way to get banners in the stadium. That's my two cents. A bolstered O-Line and a back to basics defense (Classic Coughlin and Del Rio powerhouse defenses) is what the Jags need. This year was VERY promising, what with our rookies and younger players coming in to their own.

The fact that we swept the Texans this year to finally even the franchise record was super sweet to me. I also totally love the Battle Red the Texans use against their biggest rivals (which 9 times out of ten seems to be the Jags), wish the Jags would bring back Battle Black or classic white on white for just those games too. :)

Then again, I hate the new uniforms all together, so whatever.

Anywho, I feel a comraderie with other AFCS fans, since we're so often overlooked, often maligned, and yet still one of the most powerful divisions in the league, even in our worst years. Hell, the AFCS has the record for most wins by a division in one season, and that year, we had three teams in the playoffs, with the Texans being like one or two games out of the wildcard. I LOVE the South. I love my rival teams - not the way I love the Jags, but even so I still defend them against 'enemy' fans.

That's why you hurt my feelings so bad. :(

i've always felt the AFCS was a cobbled division of johnny-come-latelys ... no real history there :p

although i have nothing personal against any of the teams in that division. (i only dislike the colts due to manning and them being the pats biggest rival over the last decade)
