J+P+J or P+JJ ?

I'm thinking about upgrading my bass with two jazz magnets (i get them from my friend very cheap)
first i was thinking about JPJ with 5way switch, but then another one idea came up on my mind

what would i get if i connect in paralel two jazz pups ? also with 5way switch (with split double jazz )

is this second idea possible ?

what sound are you aiming for ? if you go with a P and 2 J's in parallel (like 1 humbucker) then in essence you have a 2 PUP system, just with a fatter sound from the J side. on the other hand with a J + P + J you'll have a Stu Hamm Urge PUP arrangement which gives you more tonal flexibility (depending on how you wire it)
Stu Hamm @ NAMM :

this is how fender wires the Urge ll
