J with Rounds vs. P with Flats - An audio comparison

First of all, love the riff!

I am a Precision man at heart, but the J w/ rounds definitely adds a bit of that Zeppelin charm, and so gets my vote in this case. The P with flats comes 2nd, then J with flats.

I'm adding a +1 to P with rounds though... come on Dan, you know you wanna...

damn they are both good.
i think i like the j with rounds.
the p is nice and smooth in the mix, but i think the j gives it just the right about of edge.

if I were producing the song, J with rounds would be my call on this particular track.

I am on the opposite side, to me in this example P with flats gives a fuller tone that after some eq. will kill in the mix.

The Jazz with rounds sounds better to me. I think it goes better with this song.

UPDATE: As requested, here is a J with flats (TI Jazz):

J+flats

That has my vote - a bit more mellow than the rounds, but still sounds like it has a little more clarity than the P with flats. I can't afford to start missing my Jazz again!

still like the P but the J w/ flats is pretty awesome too - I think all three are all great and are within a very close inch of each other on the minute scale . . . P, J/flats, J in that order for me (maybe tie w/ both flats )
