Jack Adapter

I just bought a 1/4" jack adapter so that I can play my bass and listen on my headphones without disturbing other people in my building. It fits into my amp just fine but my headphones don't fit into the other end of the adapter. Where can I get an adapter that will fit headphones or what kind of adapter do I need to look for?
 
Most headphones nowadays come with a 1/8" stereo plug. If your amp has a 1/4" (same size as your guitar lead) socket you need to use an adapter 1/4" male to 1/8" female stereo avalable from any electronics store such as Radio Shack. If the headphone socket id 1/8" just plug the 'phones right in

Probably isn’t gong to work too well. Most amps are very noisy. All the hiss in your headphones is going to drive you bonkers.

Many are not noisy. Anyway, I think you need this:
