Trying to help a friend out with his JC. It has super low output compared
to my JC - about half the volume at best. He did not realize it until
I brought mine over to compare to his! I have read the past threads
here on TB about the unique electronics. Somebody modded the wiring
at some point - connections to the rotary switch (he bought it used)
unclear why.
Compared to the schematics posted here in any case!
The pickup measures 26 ohms uncoupled from the ckt.
The output coil of the transformer measures somewhat
less than mine - 3.7k , mine is 4.5k .
Does anybody know where to get these 2.5K pots?
Finding them with a splined shaft and in the size of the originals
has been tough.
Have people used 5kA pots with success?

Thanks for that!
I had seen it, but I talked to Epiphone and cannot remember a more rude unpleasant
unhelpful person outside of those working the midnight shift at a highway gas station.
Considering the frequency of issues with this part, rather surprising it has not appeared
aftermarket. My friend is considering trashing the JC pickup/wiring and moving to
the Italian aftermarket system sold at Mama Pickups.
Told him to find a YT video or some demo of what it sounds like first.
