Both 22 frets but the screw holes on the neck were in a different location. That I could have taken care of but opening up the neck pocket is to much work.

I dont want to mess with the PS5, it sounds to good. It needs pots and Im afraid to change them. I was afraid that changing the next would change the tone, took me weeks to give it a shot.

These a set of Jackson pickups on ebay but they must be gold plated, the guy wants $199 for the P set and $150 for the J.

I'll give the EMGs a try first. I dont mind them, I just dont care for on board preamps. This one has a passive tone.

although people say he is a crook and a few words that would get starred out here, you will ALWAYS find a part from a charvel/jackson on his list. Just because he charges 325.75% more than the item is worth, you don't have to buy it... ( unless you are desperate ) !

He seems to have nice stuff. And like you said its a free country, he can ask what he wants. Im willing to bet he will have those pickups for a long time !

not common, nope. I don't think I ever had one of my jacksons do that or even my el-cheapo Ibanez units with the very thin neck.

sometimes the weather is a big factor with wood. cold-hot damp dry all rolling onto one "can" cause the condition you show, but I'll bet it was there all along and it just got worse to the point where you now notice it.

Am I crazy or is there a slight bow? Tips on TR adjusting?

I asked about a slightly bowed neck on a JS2 and was told it was not at all common. Just making sure I am not seeing something not there, lol. Thios is a shot from behind the bridge PUP showing the length of the neck/fret board.

Ok, I see it now. It depends on how you like the neck set. Most of the time you will have a bit of relief in the neck which will be a slight bow in the center. If you losen the truss rod it will straighten the neck out. A little goes a long way. It may change with the weather also.

Loosening the TR??? Counter intuitive but will try... This is a new issue though. I look at the bass a lot and have done a couple set ups on it so I do pay attention to it. Only reason I looked at the neck now was because it did not seem to play rite and the action seemed a bit higher. Weather certainly can be a factor... There is a saying that says if you have ever been sunburnt and frostburnt in the same day you may be from Buffalo and that is no joke. We have swung between 60 and 20 degrees within hours a few times in the last few weeks.

I live in CT, 75 one day 35 the next so I know what you mean.

Sorry, I have that backwards, Loosening increases the bow, Tightening straightens it.

Hey thinks again, was able to make the right adjustments last night and everything seems back to normal (although I have not rechecked intonation yet).

I think you referenced the wrong poster, but still, very nice! I am liking the looks of the explorer bass

that Explorer bass is a Kelly. ( the original ). The new ones are called KellyBirds and not quite the same. Although they made an Explorer bass, only the USA shop made em, they were expensive and not readily available like the imports ( Kelly ).
