I little less pronounced than mine (of course you are running better equipment) but this does have the "sound" I am describing (and this has EMG's?).
Any tricks to mellow that fake/clanky sound out?
I usually cut treble and boost the mids. I also found the nickle strings are less clanky sounding then stainless. A graphic eq is great dialing in tone. Boost and drop each slider till you fin what frequencies you like and which you dont like

Finished tracking my bass parts yesterday. On to guitars. Hopefully we can wrap this up by Feb. Get it printed by March.
