Jackson Minion - weird neck grain - glued?

Hi,
I just had a Jackson Minion delivered.
The low E open is blurry and very little fret buzz out of the box, mostly gone with a little bit of tuning the saddles height.

What bugs me is I see 2 grain patterns on the neck, which look odd - like it was not from one block of wood rather 2 blocks that were glued.
Would you keep or return ?

Yep. I've had mine for a while now. (Got it for my daughter's but I play it more than they do.) I haven't had any issues. And the temp varies in my jam room quite a bit from season to season. (Bonus room over detached garage that is "somewhat" climate controled....meaning I don't keep it as warm/cool as I do in the main house.)

They're awesome little basses for the cash.

^^^ What they said. It's a scarf joint and, as long as it's done well, its perfectly normal and durable. I have several factory scarf jointed necks that are 15-20 years old with no issues.

It was indeed for my son, he is 9 and started on a Squier Jaguar Affinity H, but 32" is too much for his hand size. I didn't want to start a return after its here already, especially if there is no reason.

I didn't know about scarf joints!
The closest thing I have seen to it was a few years ago while living abroad, my daughter's 1/2-size-very-very-cheap-classical guitar broke exactly there... her teacher recommended a local guy to fix it but parking in that area was a nightmare so I glued it myself, made sure the glue went all in the crack and had it in clamps for 24 hours (go Gorilla Wood Glue!). The teacher was very impressed and said I did as good if not better job than the guy she had in mind. I guess I cared more to make it look clean than he would have.
3 years later - that repair still holds fine.
