*regarding the braided cable with the braid serving as an actual transport for signal: It was a huge PITA. If the braid touched anything, to include the shielding paint coating the entire cavity: the signal would usually just cut out completely. If not, it would be super noisy and tone sucked. And the Jaguar does not have straight forward wiring pathing, either. I had to coat everything in electrical tape.

If I ever buy another set, I will ask for typical insulated wiring.

Thanks for the compliment. Re the wiring: I would have commented earlier but I only saw this thread today. Did you run the braid to the ground side of the circuit? Here's a typical VVT with braid soldered to the pots. The only thing you have to be concerned with is the braid contacting the hot side.

I think it would be similar with the Jag circuit: braid to ground, center wire to hot wherever they are. Edit: I see where there could be a problem with that active wiring circuit.
