Jamersons tuned down?

Hi!
I just realized I haven't tested to buy an a, d, g and c-string from the 6-string Jamerson set and tune them e-a-d-g. It should be quite like the lightest gauge LaBella DPF I guess, but would it be identical?
Anyone tried? Just curious. I've played the normal set tuned down to C-F-Bb-Eb for some time and loved it, but would like a regular tuned set.

I play them tuned Eb and D standard as well as E standard. They probably can handle C standard... I have a bass strung up with them I can try it tomorrow.

So, are you talking about taking the 95-73-52 out of 0760M and tune them to E-A-D, then add "c-string from the 6-string Jamerson set" for the G?

Where would get the "6-string Jamerson set" with a high C? What's wrong with the 760FX (39-56-77-96)?

Yes, that is what I'm talking about. The easiest way would be to get singles from BSO of course.
The question is if it would be totally identical in terms of feel and sound to the FX set or if anyone tried it for some reason. There is nothing wrong about LaBellas strings.

I learn something new everyday... I didn't even know the 1954 Original was available in .029 as a single.

As far as I understand, the 1954 Originals do use a different formula and construction from the standard Deep Talkin' Flats. So, I do get your point now.

Yes they are a different formula. Sorry OP I missed what you were saying the first time.

You can do that, it is pretty low tension at that point though.

It's possible they have thicker cores to cope with the extreme tension, so might be stiffer than a light flatwound set, which is not good for tone.

I've played a standard set tuned BEAD just for giggles, I was impressed with how well they kept their tension, the B was indistinct and floppy but the EAD strings were nice, sort of reminicent of playing a short scale. I preferred them tuned to E standard tho.

Thanks! I figured the EAD (that is, the ADG in standard) would be nice, that's why I asked. Maybe I'll try it the next time I have my LaBella cravings again!
Yeah, they are truly great tuned to standard as well as down to C or D imo. But I much prefer lighter strings these days for my arms.
