Janice Barefaced Electric bass cabs

Barefaced are awesome, light, at a pretty transparent end tone wise, depending on model, transparent for a single way cab isn't so transparent as a three way, but compared to other equivalents. electric cabs are about 50 years behind the times, massive, heavy, limited bandwidth. No idea about janice.

Yep on Barefaced :hyper: . The others I have never heard of. Could be super. Or not.

Think about Audiokinesis, Baer, fEARless, fEARful, & Bill Fitzmaurice too. Also Don Oatman @ www.LowDownSound.com can custom-build anything you want.

Just wanted to bump this a bit. I just came across Janice cabs during a lengthy internets search for 212s, but have found nothing about them in terms of reviews. They sher are purty. And reasonably priced. That is, if they sound good. Just wondering if anyone has actually experienced these cabs.

Don will also advise you on your design, and he has quite a lot of experience... he is also one of the most pleasant people I've ever dealt with in the business, and his cabinets are built to last. The "nearful" design he did for me has the most sophisticated internal bracing and best overall construction quality I've ever seen in any enclosure ever.

Just played this cab at the Janice shop and I can say it's one of the best I've ever heard. I know that there aren't many reviews out there but they are growing in popularity. A demo video has been made of this cab and should be on the web soon.

I have tried them in an out door and in door concert venue at the Valparaiso popcorn fest. They sound thin and flabby at low volume levels and when you crank them, they make a squeaking, chuffing and chirping sound, it seems they cant handle medium to loud volume levels. The Bass cab I tried sounded very stuffy like it had a blanket over top of it. It did not project very well. It was also clearly made of standard ply wood and it was very heavy. The handles they installed are ridiculous and make the cab very hard to nearly impossible to carry. I inquired about the price and the guy from Janice ( didn't get his name ) was all over the place with pricing. He didn't seem to really know what he was doing or talking about. The Janice cabs look more like a nicely crafted end table or coffee table, but definitely not a good source for audio products especially seeing the wait time with Janice is 6 to 8 weeks.
A week ago I took deliver of an EarCandy BassBomb 2x12 for half the price, half the weight and 10 times the tone. I had to wait 2 weeks to get it because I ordered some custom options that no one else offered and they gave me a lifetime warranty on the cab and a 7 year warranty on the speakers. My Bassbomb was 549.00 plus 55 shipping to Michigan.
On a scale of 1 to 10. Id give Janice a 1.5.
