I know I’m in the minority here, but I totally agree with this post. I just don’t get it. I’ve tried, but I am not a fan. I’ll run and duck for cover now

I'm so with you. I'm not a big Joplin fan, but even three minutes of Dylan is a sentence.

The movie that clip was taken from "Festival Express" is worth watching. It is a documentary of a Woodstock-like series of concerts in Canada where the promoters chartered a train and went from city to city. On a train full of huge stars (JJ, Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy, The Band) the two that really stood out to me as the stars among the stars were Janis and Jerry Garcia for their personalities and generous spirit as well as their musical talent.

That sounds great. I just ordered a copy from Amazon. My credit card thanks you!

And truth be told, women talk the same way about men. Probably not about Jaco though. Dude was fugly! But then again so was Joplin. Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled program!

Really? I saw Weather Report before Jaco joined and after he joined, a lot of WR's new fans were chicks! Jaco was a rock star in a jazz band

Big fan of JJ with Big Brother & the Holding Company. Listened to the Cheap Thrills album as a budding 14 year old bass player in '69.

My son took 'the old man' to the Coquitlam Hard Rock Casino today where they have a nice display with the original sg played by Sam Andrews on 'Cheap Thrills' and signed by the band. That's Sam Andrews to the right of Jimi.

'Luck be a Lady Tonight' ....the casino paid $ nicely too
