@Saetia There are a whole lot of posts in this thread that make me wish for a recorded snippet of the rig in action. This photo is waaaay up near the top of that pile.

A long way back in this thread a guy named @basscooker had some tall narrow Peavey cabs he kind of "resto-modded" paired with a Crate Power Block on one and a GK MB200 on the other.

This photo is cool because it's like seeing the whole "era agreement" happening.

Just cleaned and repaired the cab so I need to test it out still, but it looks promising!

You should have seen all the little acorns I vacuumed up out of it! One cone has been repaired, and I had to replace the Fostex horn driver and the two festoon bulb fuses for it.

Repurposed combo amp head in a 3d printed housing, 3d printed TPU amp feet, scrap pieces of 3/4 MDF, 3d printed cab corners, and leftover roll-on bedliner (that holds MDF dust remnants way too much). Does this bedroom practice rig count?

Should theoretically hold up to 200 watts RMS, F3 of 65 Hz, and F10 of 40 Hz (estimated from SBL, could be different in reality).

My first big rig was much like this Mark IV/215D combination, a Mark III/Ampeg 2x15. I somehow got it in my teenage brain that the Peavey wasn't "pro" and traded it away. I did come to my senses a bit later and got a—janky!—118BW, which had no badges on the front and nothing covering the bare wood on the bottom; but that thing sounded incredible and was my favorite cab until it got burgled. I wouldn't have another sweet Peavey rig like that for another 15 years.

What did they use to burgle that, a tow truck?

It is a Pro I that has been refinished

Color is a GM code from 1977 Bahama Blue
Pickups were swapped over to the 74 Pure vintage after the neck pickup broke a wire in the winding. Currently using a .022 cap

the other blue bass has a link also in that thread \/

Thank you, yes I did that all here at the house
rattle can and the aid of having a pneumatic orbital to do the 3000 grit and also polish work that cleans up any orange peel or imperfections in the clear. Not terribly hard to do, just some detail oriented time

Here's my late night practice rig. The amp is my homebrew concoction, putting out a half watt of power. The amp lacks a proper power transformer, so if the outlet is mis-wired, the chassis is hot (the doom part). The output transformer was from a wall wart. It's ran in into 8" and 12" cabs (KLH 17, Team Electronics Award 380). The rig, does have a nice full tone at super low volume unlike most practice amps the 12" woofer does have an alnico magnet so it's quite old. I have some other small tube amps that need to be rebuilt, two kinda work, the others are dead or I haven't tested them yet, so future additions for the janky thread. Also I have six vintage 15s that were found in a trashcan that need refoam that could put into some open back cabs. Homebrew jank is the best. The Ibanez bass also qualifies jank too, due to a broken tuner. It will be getting some new tuners eventually.

Thread has been quiet for a little while, thought I'd throw up a doom sized cab. This cab came from my church. My priest wanted it gone, I ended up salvaging the speakers and plan to build a lighter weight modular setup. It contains 4 Eminence 15's a 10" mid and a JBL 075 tweeter. Looks to be made in 1974 and is very efficient. The cab is a Rodgers W6-100 intended for organ use, rated for 100 watts. The janky part is the torn paper surrounds on a few of the woofers that I will need to repair with Modpodge. I think the surrounds had been torn when the cab was moved down the stairs, it's ridiculously heavy. The drivers alone weigh 37 pounds, haven't weighed the 3/4"particle board cab panels yet.

I found some more info on the cab, 150 lbs with the installed 100w amp. Active cabs have come a long way in 50 years.

Some info on the woofers from my testing:
7.1 ohm dcr
Fs 27hz
Qts seems similar to the Eminence Alpha 15 (qts 1.26) based on observed cone movement, so it's good for low power open cab usage.
Efficiency seem similar to the Alpha 15 when measured at 70hz and 40hz. The Alpha 15 plays higher into the midrange though.
Power handling at 41hz low E is around 21 watts or 13 volts assuming a nominal impedance of 8 ohms in free air use with a peak to peak cone movement around 11mm. Or 15 watts or 10 volts at 31hz low B. At 16hz for organ fans it's like 7or 8 volts. After p-p cone movement increases past11mm the distortion rises the mechanical limit around 15mm p-p.
