Japanese Hohner Precision Info?

Does anyone know anything about the Hohner Precision copies that were manufactured in Japan? Where they were made? Quality?

They must be pretty decent instruments. Prince used a Hohner Telecaster for years.

The one I just bought (and am waiting to receive) has a Fender shape headstock and and what looks like an abalone inlay. I was just hoping to get a little info on it.

Japanese at first, then Korean from about 1990 on. Quality above average, good woods. Electronics average, would benefit from an upgrade to a DiMarzio Split P or similar.

I had a Hohner B2A headless bass in the 90s. I think made in Korea.

Very well made, great neck, crapola pickups. Wish I never sold it.

I remember the headless ones. Had a black B Bass IV that was Korean made. Same story re neck and pickups. Think those were EMG Selects...adequate, but not much else.

I'm VERY familiar with Hohner. I've owned several (at least 3) Jack basses, two B2AVs and I currently own a B2A and am on the lookout for another well priced Jack.

I just don't know anything about the Japanese Precision and Jazz copies.

I bought a Jack at GC earlier this year on a whim, one of my best purchases in a long time! Great bass! Are they made in Japan also?

As far as I know, the Jack basses are made in Korea.

Stonehenge, not a problem. I'm always willing to talk Jack basses. Yours is similar to my first one. I sold it when money got tight, and have regretted it ever since.

yes this is true Prince used a Hohner tele and a Hohner p bass.
