Jar tomato sauce

I like Paul Newman's Sockarooni Sauce too though. Sometimes I want something without all those big chunks
of vegetables and things in there.

So is there something that tastes like Sockarooni without all those vegetables?

Also, is there a jar pizza sauce that tastes like real pizzeria sauce? (not like the stuff on frozen pizzas)
I want to make some red pepper bread sticks.

Ragu: mama's special garden sauce

is my favorite in jarred sauce flavor but is super chunky, so that's out.

Ragu original is pretty good

as far as jarred pizza sauce walmart's great value brand in the glass jar is a dollar and one of the best I've found.

While my wife and I definitely enjoy cooking from 'scratch', for some basic dishes that need tomato sauce, we prefer, believe it or not, the old school Hunts sauce in the can. One of the few 'premade' tomato sauces that doesn't have a ton of sugar and other stuff in it... just nice pure tomato sauce that you can then season to taste.

Nice to have around in the pantry for 'quick and dirty' meals on occasion.

I pan fry up some bell pepper, onion, garlic & zucchini, some mushrooms. I'll throw in a large tomato from the garden (or a handful of black cherry tomatoes). After a little I'll add in some Trader Joes veggie "beef" crumbles if I want "meat" sauce. Then I add one can of tomato puree. Sometimes some spinach.

Throw that on top of whatever pasta. Mmmmmm.

Trader Joes also has a really good jarred pizza sauce.

Trader Joe's also has a great Vodka Sauce, and a very passable Pizza sauce (I usually make my own, but I'll use this in a pinch and add a shake or two of oregano). They also sell refrigerated pizza dough, and shredded mozzarella cheese, so ten minuted and a hot oven will get you there.

Start with a big can of Redpack. Less salt than Hunts. Sauté some onions in some olive oil, then Add basil, oregano, pepper, a little butter, and a couple of Bay leaves. Bring to boil, boil as long as you can wait and you're done.

If you must use a jar, add some oregano and basil to kick it up a notch.

Wine makes sauce taste yummy.

Thanks for the suggestions. There is no Trader Joe's around here, but I ought to be able
to find some of the other stuff.

In the meantime, I'll just strain the Sockarooni.

I add maybe a cup of wine and a few fresh tomatoes to jar sauce along with what ever else it may require.

Still not as good as home made, but it's a lot quicker.

+1 For a quick pasta meal Hunt's original sauce isn't too bad, lots of Parmesan (or Romano) cheese is the fixer. I personally make it from scratch and I like it so thick the sauce can be piled up in the middle of the pan and does not spread out. The flavor is so concentrated a little goes a long way.
