Jazz bass classic questions

I'm talking about the MIM classic 60s and 70s.

Aesthetics aside, the differences are AFAIK :

-Bridge pickup closer to the bridge for the 70
-Truss rod adjustment at the headstock for the 70. Btw, how do you make the adjustments on the 60s version ? Do you have to remove the pickguard for that ?
- Neck size : I read somewhere that the 70s classic has a thicker neck. Is it true ?

If I forgot any other functional differences please let me know.

I just noticed on several websites that the 70 is cheaper than the 60. This is very surprising, because with the binding and the block inlays, the 70 seems more expensive to make. What's the deal here ?

Additional questions : I read somewhere that these basses have CTS pots installed, is that true ?

Oh and please help me on the 60's truss rod adjustment question, I couldn't find the answer anywhere on the forum.

Mastermold : this wasn't the question I was asking about the truss rod

Just removing the pickguard doesn't cut it ? If you have to unbolt the neck to do that then it's really silly. Unbolting, tuning the trussrod then putting it back, checking the setup then doing it all over again until you got it right ? Talk about a pain in the ass !
