I want to get the Squier Classic Vibe Jazz bass, but I wanna know how versatile it is. Can it play many genres, including the heavy stuff? Thank you.

VERY straight to the point, thank you, would you say it's better than the Vintage Modified Jaguar?
I play an American Jazz Bass. Although there might be some differences, it is a very versatile bass. That was the reason I bought one. Many bassists across all genres use it. I'd get it.

So here's the thing--ANY bass can be used for ANY genre. People argue that by saying they'd never bring a pointy Jackson to a jazz gig, but that's only a question of LOOKS, not sound.
For versatility, it's reasonable to say a two-pickup bass might be more versatile than a one-pickup bass. But even that gets argued by P-bass fans.

I would say so. From my knowledge, you can't put different volumes on a Jaguar. With a Jazz, you can put different volume levels on each pick up, causing a world of tone options.

I have a really ****** amp by a company called Cruiser by Crafter, so I'll be getting a new one with my bass (It's my first bass by the way, I've play guitar though) Could you recommend a good amp that's not too pricey?
