Jazz Bass: new stack knobs and Badass II

So i bought myself the Stack Knob Kit off of basspartsresource and got my dad's guitar luthier friend to install them for me. I also got a badass II put in, and got him to file the bridge professionally.

I LOVE my Jazz Bass now, it sounds so much better than before. my dad's friend mostly does fret work so he went over and did a bit of work on them, and I no longer have any buzzing frets.

I don't think my Jazzy's ever sounded this good. the additional sustain from the badass II is insane, it sounds great, and the additional tone knob adds a lot of tonal possibilities. I can now get everything from a pseudo-flatwound sound to the flea-like metallic attack. :bassist:

Plus I think it looks great!

if anyone wants clips let me know!

Looks great!!!!

I'm actually seriously considering making the same mods to my MIA Jazz. I'm not sure about the Badass though, I find they look to big and clunky. I might go with the Gotoh instead or just leave the bridge as is. I string through the body anyhow....

Did the stacked configuration on my rosewood board/tobacco burst '00 MIA Jazz,...love the versatility. Put a tort guard on there as well...thinking about adding the thumbrest, neck pickup ash tray and swaping out the pegs... Would then need to vintage tint the back neck/headstock and re-decal the instrument...huuuummmmm?????
I'll post pics when I figure out how to do that....

Cheers,
Rob

Wow I have the same bass and its lefty too!

I also put on a BadassII and the exact sam colour tort guard!

Very good taste I must say!

I kept the three knob configuration but had a push/pull tone pot installed and the series parallel wiring option. I also added a set of 62 re issue pickups which are the same as the Geddy pups.

I love the bass and play it all the time.
