Jazz Bass Pickguard vs Control Plate Screws

Hey TalkBass!

First, if this question is in the wrong forum please feel free to move it. I think it's in the right place though.

Quick question: are the screws on a jazz bass pickguard the same as those for the control plate?

I have a 1999 Fender MIM jazz bass and a previous owner put a different pickguard on it. I think they tried to reposition the control plate around the same time, and mixed up all the screws. I have 3 shorter screws with slightly smaller heads than the rest. Since the control plate only uses 3 screws, are these shorter/smaller screws for the control plate?

Since I need to fill and redrill the holes anyway I'm OK going with whatever is correct. Looking around online, it seems like pickguard and control plate screws are the same.
