Sounds like your bridge rout shielding does not have a good ground connection, try linining over the conductive paint w/ copper tape (with conductive adhesive), that may sort that issue.

It will not be a faraday cage... your pole pieces are sticking up above the shiedling.
It may reduce the highs, slightly, minimally (remember a by no means dark tele neck PU is completely covered, including the pole pieces
), and probably not noticeable in the mix. But my opinion is, if I have a choice between a chain or table saw accompaniment or a slight loss of highs, I'll take the latter and turn up the treble a smidgen on the amp - a split/stacked coil will be more noticeable.... unless of course I have a set list in front of my nose with only this one song on it, then not shielding can be useful [great bass on it btw, Leland Sklar, Mark Paletier is on the table saw... ]:

Human beings are large water filled antennae for EMI, when we are grounded (e.g. by touching the grounded strings) we stop functioning as an antenna.
